W.A.R.G CHRISTMAS GATHERING
As seen by the old man G4VBH

Once again the time had arrived for the Christmas tribal gathering, the most popular venue being the WINNING POST. We had always had excellent service there so why change. The Gathering comprised of old friends and the many new friends we had made since the last pow-wow.

Our numbers are growing and it was rather a squeeze and elbow to elbow is not the best of situations for welding the knife and fork….you could find yourself feeding the person next to you! So it looks as if we shall have to find another venue with more space next time, however in spite of the rather cramped situation we had a splendid gathering of the clan.

The feast laid on was as usual excellent with a choice of menu for those that had preferences also a few bottles of wine made their appearance. The custom of pulling the crackers and the donning of the paper hats caused a little aside confusion with the remarks where's my hat, where's my motto and look what I've got, all adding to a festive feeling.

The ringing of the bell and time gentlemen came only too quickly ….. and the splendid gathering came to an end …..with the well known phrases of 'whose is this coat where my shoe' and the good nights, and of course the kissing ( I didn't get one ). It was a good night and well enjoyed by all, and so the WARG tribe went out into the cold night and so to bed …..till the next time ..and there will be, you can bet on it.
