I’m an electronics hobbyist that Last year got my call callsign, now I don’t know what radio should be the right one to go portable, backpacking and base station. Being the first investment, I want to go for an equipment that can stay with me for a good time. I’ve been to lots of reviews on the internet regarding yaesu FT 897D and FT 857D performances, some say that both have lots of technical issues but at the same time most people said they are great 5/5, I would like the ICOM MK 2g but has been discontinued, the ICOM 7000 is the want I want but I feel I’m asking for too much and will break the piggy bank.
Could you please advise me?
Visiting different web sites I have found Whitton Amateur Club very interesting group to learn and interact from, I’m interested on the intermediate course and if it’s possible to join it.
